Farmers in many French cities staged mass protests to express their disapproval of the government’s actions.

Some government buildings were filled with hay and manure scattered, and the phenomenon quickly spread not only throughout Europe but throughout the world.

French farmers have protested against severe impacts on agriculture, fuel prices, tax increases, climate policies and government measures. They have been protesting against government measures since November.

Angry farmers threw hay at several government buildings in the French city of Dijon, where more than 80 tractors gathered, blocking busy roads and causing major traffic jams.
