A video of a hedgehog escaping from drowning in a puddle is going viral on the internet.

A dog barking by the pool alerted the owner of the house that something was wrong, and the video caught the attention of netizens.

To date, over 6 million YouTubers have watched the hedgehog rescue scene, and many animal lovers are happy with the end result.

The video clip was filmed in Ravenna, northern Italy, where the owner of the pool first tried to rescue a drowning hedgehog with his hands, but to no avail. He later used a shovel for the rescue and was able to record the entire scene on his cell phone.
