The Adelie Penguin was recently found off the coast of New Zealand and has already been given the cute name Pingu by the locals.
It originated in the 2,000-mile natural habitat of Antarctica, and the video has already become a hit on social media.
The Adélie Penguin is a species of penguin found on all coasts of Antarctica. Adélie penguins grow to 2.3 feet in height and are medium sized penguins. They are considered aggressive and the number of Adélie penguins is around 5 million.
Many people in southern New Zealand have noticed this type of penguin – many people have photographed it, contacted animal rescue services and donated an ambulance to the penguin.
This phenomenon surprised even experts, because this species of penguins lives only on the Antarctic Peninsula. It is currently unknown how the penguin got to the coast of New Zealand.
