When the Belleville Fire Department responded to a recent call, they found a man stuck in the mud with his pet parrot. The 66-year-old had been out for a stroll with his avian friend when the parrot got stuck in the mud of a recently dredged lake. Its owner went in to help, and then got stuck himself. Fire Chief Tom Pour said, “This was a pretty tame pet,” and that during the rescue, “he was more than happy to stay on his owner’s shoulder and ride the whole ride back to the shore.”
