On her way home to Dallas, Lauren Siler came across an Instagram post about a poor old dog in need of help.

The dog was available for adoption, as was Dallas Animal Services. The shelter receives information about their dogs from the people who donate them. So when Annie was abandoned, the 19-year-old dog stopped eating and walking, her previous owners said at the shelter.

Lauren then went to ask her roommate and best friend Lisa Flores if she could bring the dog home, but by then Annie had already been taken in by a rescue team called Operation Power Rescue.

Lisa and Lauren go on a rescue team looking for a foster family for Annie and tell her they want to give Annie a home forever!

However, they were told by the veterinarian that Annie would not live more than a month! Anyway, they did not care and took her home to give her a great time in her golden years.

The two friends started sharing their moments with Annie on Instagram and some of their videos went viral! Annie celebrated her birthday with Lisa and Lauren, who also celebrated Christmas early enough to make her happy.

The girls say they’ll give Annie what she needs if she’s okay. This is cute!
