It’s not easy to take care of a small, months-old baby. It’s particularly hard if you’re taking that baby to another country. Taking care of a small child can sometimes lead to unexpected circumstances so parents should always be prepared.
One young mother was such a person. She and her baby were aboard a flight to the other side of the world, and she was worried that her baby would disturb the passengers and crew. So, she handed out some gifts, and the gesture touched everyone on the flight.
On February 12, Dave Corona was preparing himself for a particularly long flight from Seoul, South Korea to San Francisco, U.S.A. It would be a ten-hour flight, and there were many passengers. One of them was a four-month-old baby.
It would be normal to expect some fussing from the baby, but what Dave didn’t expect was receiving a goodie bag from the boy’s mother.
It was a small thing, but inside the bag were some Korean candies and ear plugs. There was also a note that pulled at the heartstrings of all who received it-all the passengers of the flight.
The note read:
Hello, I’m Junwoo and I’m 4 months old. Today I’m going to the U.S. with my mom and grandma to see my aunt. I’m a little bit nervous and scary because it’s my first flight in my life, which means that I may cry or make too much noise. I will try to go quietly, though I can’t make any promises. Please excuse me. So my mom prepared little goodie bags for you! It has some candies and earplugs. Please use it when it’s too noisy because of me. Enjoy your trip. Thank you. 🙂
It certainly surprised all the passengers! Not everyone would go to such lengths to avoid disturbing others, after all. Dave and the rest of the crew and passengers were impressed. And it just so happens that Dave was a cameraman working for KGO-TV in San Francisco.
He took pictures of the goodie bag, the note, and the young mother carrying her baby and shared it on his Facebook account. It garnered a lot of attention, with many people commenting and praising the mother’s actions.
People also wondered if the passengers were able to use the earplugs. Turns out there was no need to. The baby was silent and peaceful all throughout the flight. Not a peep was heard from them, which impressed everyone more.
It’s not an easy feat to create over 200 goodie bags for strangers. This mother certainly has our respect!
